As promised last week, here are a few of the new screenshots of the campaign we’ll be using to promote our work in the upcoming weeks. These are taken from the lastest stable build and should represent what you’ll get once you’ll finally be able to play the campaign.
Be sure that releasing something as big as I Hate Mountains sure takes some preparation, we’re in the middle of a lot of different things for the website, for the “press”, for the fans, etc. But we sure are close to it nonetheless. It’s only a matter of a few days or more, but not more than two weeks (again, speculation, but this time, it should work out).
By the way, there’s more screenshots (10 for each level) on the new “Ambient screenshots” page. Don’t hesitate to take a tour and tell us what you think about it in the comments until we finish to setup the forums.
1: Lost in the Woods
The survivors crashed their bus in an utility pole of this dark forest while fleeing. They must now find their way through the spooky North American mountains.
2: Climbing the Manor
The survivors got out of the forest and must now reach the highest point of this manor and try to launch a distress call from the radio broadcasting some tape loop.
3: The Underground Way
Escaped from the manor, the survivors are now fleeing through an old system of caves and tunnels running under the manor and through the mountains.
4: Lumberyard Evacuation
Freshly escaped from this oppressing cave system, survivors are now looking for help and rescue in the lumberyard nearby where military forces set up their outpost.
5: Lakeside Finale
Fleeing the now infected and desolated lumberyard, the survivors find themselves blocked by a lake and are eagerly waiting to be rescued by whoever could catch their signal.
OMFG! I’ve been waiting those screenshots like water in the desert! I hope you can accomplish the two weeksa period until release! Good luck and as i always say: thanks for the effort and time that you’ve used in this amazing project
Just one word: awesome. =)
Looks really nice, can’t wait to get my hands on that thing.
But I would like to see something “moving” from the campaign instead of pictures only. Like gameplay or a flythrough of the first four maps. Especially when there won’t be a release in the near future (means you know you gonna miss your ‘2 weeks’ mark by more than three days)
Maybe this has always been part of our plans for the next week, or maybe not, who knows :D
Amazing pictures !!! Really nice job guys !!! Thank you !!!
Certaines images me font penser à des films (28jours plus tard, down of the dead…)
Chaque endroits et truffés de détails! BRAVO !
<3
Wonderful screenshots. This will be the best campaign out there :))))))))))
Can we, the site lurkers, test it for you before you release :p
Great work and thanks.
Looking really high quality, I’m very impressed. Good luck with the final stretch guys.
looks great.can’t wait for it.good luck with the release, cheers for all the hard work.
Looks really really nice , just one thing , in the cave the water falls looks a little bit too selfilluminated , but it’s just my own opinion , by the way, awesome job , eager to test it !!
EN: Yes, it’s approximately 200 MB compressed and 550 MB when uncompressed.
WOW! Impressive lighting ! Amazing atmosphere and environments looks very realistic. I love how you’ve added many details, either throguh texturing or with props ! Great job !!! I can’t wait to put my hands on these maps !!
Yeah, ça va dépoter !
Been following this for a long time. Looks most impressive. If you have played the campaign, just how long did it take?
Well, it highly depends on which mode or which difficulty you’re playing. In coop, it takes approximately 1h30 to finish it in advanced, while in versus it took us a bit more than 2 hours if I remember correctly. It’s very similar to what Valve did with their campaigns.
J’ai hâte de tester ça. Merci encore pour vos efforts !
j’ai hate apres tant d’années ;D
Baaaave !
ok guys, I don’t see the reason why is IHM not out yet… :(
uuuh, maybe because it’s not as simple as it seems?
That’s a huge file, we need fast mirrors, partners, media, supports for feedback, and so on.
@Nicolas
I could help you with the mirrors i’ve got a premium megaupload account and the archives that i upload are never erased. By the way, is the biiiiiig bonus section prepared?
Not too fond of Megaupload, but I guess it could work out. We’ll sort out the details later, for the moment we’re working on this bonus section.
Very nice pictures, waited for this map for months.
Is the L4D2 version also ready? or will it be released later?
Have u thought about releasing the campaign on other sites? (L4Dmaps.com, L4Dmods etc)
i hope everything will work well for you guys, since u put so much effort into this thing to be perfect!
The L4D2 version in on hold because it’s too damn hazardous to work on both versions at the same time. We will use several websites for distributing, but we don’t really care about their community features, we have all we need in there.
