Because it’s been a long time since we last provided new materials, here’s 3 brand new action screenshots taken from the Lakeside level during our last playtest. We try to keep as much mystery as possible around this one, but we’ve been busy working on weather recently and as it turned out pretty good, we wanted to share it with you. Color correction is awesome.
Also, playing with the right music is always important!
Oh my gawd. This mod just got ten times better.
Why must you tease us so!
This mod isn't going to raise the bar for L4D maps, it's going to set it on fire and rocket into space.
I assume the lightning actually strikes? Not just a static image in the background. If so this is great, nothing like this in the original maps!
Can't wait to play this!
@Jamie:
LOl yes, of course it strikes. It was a nightmare to shoot these screenshots at the exact millisecond where the light was not yet dazzling but the thunderbolt still visible :D
Well, I agree, I just love color correction too. ^^
Specially the "almost b&w;" effect it can give the game.
this is fucking pure lightnings !
when when when when ?????
you don't seek for beta testers ??
(just for objective improvements, of course)
They have already the best beta tester in the world !
@Nicolas
isn't possible to set the time so that it's like playing slowmo? in a local match should be possible to activate the cheats…
Hey is it possible to set any of the L4D2 'Hard Rain' effects into the map? Haha, that'd be awesome. Or is it impossible because L4D2 is on a different engine?
@blackdog:
Damn, that's not a bad idea, didn't even thought about the host_timescale command.
@Apple:
No, the campaign is set to work on Left 4 Dead 1 first. If it works on Left 4 Dead 2 that's cool (and we'll try to make it work), but that's not our primary goal.
eheh :) i remember that because i used when taking some early screens of Riot Act betas.
@Nicolas
Oh I see. But what I really meant was is it possible to add the L4D2 Hard Rain effects in the Left 4 Dead 1 version of this campaign?
I'm not a mapper so I wouldn't have a clue =D
@Apple:
Oh yeah, that would be totally feasible, but there's just a little problem: Valve never implemented any system for us to include custom particle systems. So, we're stuck with the ones that come with Left 4 Dead 1.
Can't wait for this! It's so damn hot looking!
Do you guys have an ETA on the campaign? It seems like you are pretty close to finishing.
It should work with L4D2 just fine, you MAY have to change some textures and modify the mission.txt and addoninfo.txt. As long as you didn't use func_button_timed for anything it should work. If not, I can provide assistance with this if needed. I do think it would be a shame to not have a l4d2 version as the changes will probably be very minor materials changes. Also, L4d1 is pretty much dead to be honest.
Looks good. Ah, what I am talking about? That's pure gold there! Will the lightning work like the Hard Rain (means summon a small horde and/or reduce the view by adding more fog or something)?
Anyway, seems pretty compelete for me, so I guess, we can expect an release soon – within next 2 month, maybe?
@Anonymous:
No ETA for the moment, we'll announce a release date when it will be fully finished.
@ohmysac:
We didn't use the entity, no. I Heard it wasn't implemented in Left 4 Dead 2 anyway.
@Daniel:
No, it doesn't summon hordes, because it's the finale map, it would be pretty horrible to battle through hordes just to reach the finale and battle through hordes again!
Great work!! I can't wait to play this campaign.
So, when it will be released?
Can't wait to play this…
Hi from Russia! :-)
A lot of people are asking for an ETA of the campaign. That's not how we proceed. First we finish it, then we announce it, sorry :)
Still checking here from time to time and still looking forward to play this (screens look great!!!).
So when are you going to port this to L4D2?
@Anonymous:
When it's done.
